The Future of Wireless Networking

When it comes to networking, the future is wireless. As the technology develops and transfer speeds increase, it looks increasingly likely that wireless will replace Ethernet in most home and small business networks. In this article, I look at how far wireless networking has come and at what the future holds.

There is little doubt that wireless is the way of the future. In fact, it has already made its way into many homes and businesses. If you own a laptop with wireless capabilities, you already know all the handy wireless hotspots in your local area. While you still have to pay for some of these services, increasingly business like cafes and restaurants are offering free Wi-Fi to attract customers.

Wireless is also becoming the medium of choice for the average home network. Most if not all internet service providers (ISPs) offer wireless routers with their packages for a few extra dollars. Also, you will be hard pushed to find a desktop or laptop computer manufactured in the last couple of years that does not have wireless capabilities. So, wireless is both cheap and easy to set up in the home.

The same is true for small businesses. The average wireless router’s signal will cover enough area for most small offices. Wireless networking also cuts out the cost of installing and maintaining Ethernet cables. And, of course, it is much neater.

Keep your cell phone looking brand new with this next-to-free protective cover that will last longer than the original.

To complete this How-To you will need:

A ruler
A permanent marker
Clear packing tape
Scissors or a craft knife
A bowl of water
A few drops of dish soap
A credit card

Step 1: Measure and mark

Measure your screen with the ruler and use the marker to mark the width on the packing tape before you unroll the tape. Then add an inch to your height measurement and mark that on the tape.

Step 2: Cut

Cut the marked piece of tape as straight as possible. Peel it from the roll starting at the top, where the excess tape is marked.

Tip: Hold the tape by the excess inch. This prevents fingerprints and prevents the tape from getting hung up on anything.

Step 3: Soak

Submerge the piece of tape completely in a bowl of water with a few drops of dish soap and soak it for several seconds. Avoid making the water too sudsy.

Step 4: Place on phone

Make sure the tape and your hands are free from debris. Then, put a drop or two of water on your cell phone’s screen and apply the tape, sticky-side down, starting at the bottom. Center the tape on the screen.

Step 5: Squeegee

Remove excess water and air bubbles with the credit card, using it like a squeegee. Push from the bottom to the top. Then blot excess water from the screen with a tissue.

Step 6: Remove excess tape

Carefully cut off the excess tape at the top just below the faceplate surface.

Step 7: Avoid scratching back

Avoid scratching other parts of your cell phone by always placing it in a separate pocket from your keys and loose change, or in a separate compartment in your handbag.

You’re ready to debut your web site, but you need a URL. Give your web site a domain that is both memorable and fitting.

To complete this How-To you will need:

A domain name
Internet access
Payment

Step 1: Choose a name

Pick a name that is simple, short, and fits your content. If you are registering a business web site, the name of the business should be the domain name.

Step 2: Search for name

Go to an official internet registrar online. Search for the domain name you want to register to check if it’s available. If the name isn’t available, comparable alternatives are sometimes suggested.

Tip: Consider purchasing additional, similar names. In addition to .COM, consider buying .NET and .ORG, too. This helps direct traffic to your site.

Step 3: Register

Register an account with your provider. This typically involves supplying contact and billing information.

Step 4: Purchase domain

Purchase the domain name. Now you have successfully reserved an address that is memorable, short, and fits your site’s content.

The Alex Jones Show-6/11/08:”DEATH OF THE INTERNET” pt1

http://prisonplanet.com/articles/june2008/061108_kill_internet.htm
ISP’s have resolved to restrict the Internet to a TV-like subscription model where users will be forced to pay to visit selected corporate websites by 2012, while others will be blocked, according to a leaked report. Despite some people dismissing the story as a hoax, the wider plan to kill the traditional Internet and replace it with a regulated and controlled Internet 2 is manifestly provable.

“Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP’s all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These ‘other’ sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet,” warns a report that has spread like wildfire across the web over the last few days.

The article, which is accompanied by a You Tube clip, states that Time Magazine writer “Dylan Pattyn” has confirmed the information and is about to release a story – and that the move to effectively shut down the web could come as soon as 2010.
