Hilton Atlanta Connects With Guest2Net? From PossibleNOW; Hotel Guests Enjoy High Speed Internet Access In All Guest Rooms & Public Areas
ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) August 5, 2004
PossibleNOW, the provider of Guest2Net high speed Internet access solutions for the hospitality industry, announces that Hilton Atlanta has implemented the Guest2Net service at its property. Hilton Atlanta, a premier convention hotel, now offers high speed wireless Internet access in all of its 1,224 guest rooms as well as in its public areas, lounges and restaurants.
With the Guest2Net solution, hotel guests enjoy the flexibility offered by wireless Internet connectivity. Guests can use their notebook computers anywhere in their room and are not confined to their desk area. Wireless access in the hotelÂ?s lounges and restaurants let guests use their computer while they enjoy a snack or meal.
Â?For business travelers, the ability to stay connected to their office is essential,Â? says Brian Evans, Director of Front Office and Guest Relations at Hilton Atlanta. Â?The hotel offers a wealth of amenities for the business traveler. Adding Guest2NetÂ?s wireless high speed Internet access also positions our hotel as a desired choice in the highly competitive corporate meeting and convention market.Â?
Evans continues, Â?Hilton Atlanta presented PossibleNOW with several challenges. Our property is large. We had meeting rooms with wired Internet access. And, we had to figure out how to interface the wireless Internet access system with our property management system.Â?
PossibleNOWÂ?s Guest2Net met these challenges.
Â?Guest2NetÂ?s wireless 802.11b technology gave Hilton Atlanta a solution that kept installation costs down despite the size and layout of the hotel,Â? states Michael Boone, Vice President and General Manager of the High Speed Internet Access division at PossibleNOW. Â?We customized the Guest2Net solution so the hotel could leverage the existing Internet access in their meeting rooms. And, we interfaced their property management system with Guest2Net so they could manage guest access for wireless Internet applications. Hilton Atlanta was the first Hilton property with this capability.Â?
Boone points out that PossibleNOW offers a total solution. Â?PossibleNOW handles the technical support should guests at the Hilton Atlanta have any questions or experience a problem. This takes the burden off the hotel staff and provides guests with prompt, pleasant assistance.Â?
Guest2Net offers both wireless and wired high speed Internet access solutions to fit the needs of a variety of hotel and resort properties. Other services include print solutions, customized web portals, network integration, and site maintenance. HTC EVO 4G Internet Speed Benchmarks
Full review: http://bit.ly/90EJwF. In this video we try to answer the question “Does 4G matter?” as it related to the EVO 4G. Sprint is making a really big deal about the EVO 4G being the first smartphone in America with 4G cellular data, but should that really be a selling point? As you’ll see in this video after taking a look at some of the speeds we clocked with this device, the 4G isn’t really ready for prime time, and if you’re considering this phone, you shouldn’t let the 4G woo you.
In our testing, there are three problems with the 4G:
- The speeds are only about 2x faster than 3G, which doesn’t translate into significantly faster browsing.
- The signal reliability is lower than 3G, meaning that in order to get a fast connection, you need full bars. Also, the strength of the signal doesn’t stay consistent.
- The 4G network is only in a handful of cities right now, and we’re still a couple of years away from ubiquity
Overall, the 4G is nice to have for the future, but it’s not really a compelling feature today.
