Mugen #288: Complete Encryption
One half of the title is the stage name (which technically references the OneHalf DOS virus with the “Dis is one half” message (danooct1 deserves credit for his video on that)).
Also, #3 of this “family” of stages (made up of Nano Storm (#263), Warp Factor (#284), and this)
Way back in #103, I fought an edit called Human Candy XI by SeraphTears, and in #276, I fought his massive overhaul. Well, this time, I’m fighting the original Human Candy. Believe it or not, some bugs I saw in SeraphTears first version actually exist here! The giant clones, the striker clones, the silent Proton Cannon, but that’s about it. She has one super where she basically seizures in place but I don’t know what it does, and another that just combos. Unlike SeraphTears’, she has no powercharge or lifecharge, she doesn’t jump through floors, she doesn’t have a ton of fullscreen supers (especially not the fullscreen beam super from #276), but she does have some ugly damage, many missing sounds, totally invincible dodge, nonsensical strikers, giant clones that do nothing, and to top it off, she looks like a short haired Kula. At least this one is kind of fun.
Youmu Zero is Felicity’s newest, and honestly, while Machi Ayaya was kind of fun but a huge mess, and Street Fighter Marisa was broken but enjoyable, this one’s a bit of an improvement. In case you’re wondering, the “Zero” comes from the fact that she is based off Zero from Tatsunoko vs Capcom (even with his voice o_O ) Her chaining is kinda crappy. I found that jump X, crouch X, crouch Y, DP+Y can chain, but it’s so unreliable. Her damage is ugly. QCFx2+K does a shitload if it connects. QCFx2+P does a lot if every shot hits, and she’s invulnerable during it. Max Mode feels totally unnecessary; You have to be at level 3 to use the supers in it properly anyway, which consist of downward version of QCFx2+P, Morrigan-SGS inspired QCFx2+K, and a HSDM set to QCBx2+X that works if you have 20% or less life. The range on it sucks, but it’s awesome if it connects. Tenshi also seems unnecessary; pressing start makes her summon one of four outcomes; chicken (life recovery), cake (powergain), crystal (I have no idea), and a Yukkuri (nothing). The Yukkuri takes forever to go away, and the highest level chicken heals WAY too much. The limiter bar doesn’t limit it enough. It’s alright but there’s better Youmus.

Shmoocon 2010: Infrastructural Weaknesses in Distributed Wireless Communication Services 3/6
Clip 3/6
Speaker: Zack Fasel
In order to combat the problem of wireless communication services in remote and well insulated buildings, wireless communication providers have designed and issued a distributed wireless communication device (DWCD… yes I made that acronym up) pushing the cost and installation to the consumer while increasing consumer satisfaction with their wireless coverage.
With any distributed end-user hardware device, these DWCDs are susceptible to various security issues and flaws at both a hardware and software level. We’ll take a journey into how these DWCDs of various wireless communication services operate and the flaws discovered in their design and implementation as well as the legal issues of investigating these devices. Hardware hackers meet software hackers.
