Mortgage lender Housing Finance and internet provider Access Kenya have signed a strategic partnership agreement to boost home internet access. Under the agreement, Housing Finance clients will access discounts of up to 33 percent on internet connectivity. Real estate developers keen to develop ‘internet ready homes’ are set to be the partnership’s major beneficiary. The partnership agreement will enable Access Kenya grow its corporate and residential customers through accessing markets outside Nairobi that are vastly untapped. With the high demand in housing the mortgage firm is seeking to boost its revenues through partnerships with construction and utility development firms.

Enhancing internet access

Shifting to the ICT sector, a second internet exchange point has been launched in Kenya. The new exchange point in Mombasa will save Internet service providers the expense of routing data destined for the Coast through Nairobi. NTV’s Alex Mwangi reports.
