Zweena’s Redesigned PHR Platform Provides Enhanced Protection of User Health Data with Exclusive User-controlled Sharing Feature
Skillman, NJ (PRWEB) May 11, 2012
Award-winning PHR provider ZweenaHealth.com now ensures the enhanced protection of user health data against theft and loss with an exclusive user-controlled sharing feature which provides each user with total control over how their information is used and shared. ZweenaHealth.com is a health information technology (Health IT) company which provides online PHR (Personal Health Record) and health information management services. Zweena collects patient medical records directly from doctors’ offices, organizes and digitizes them to create an electronic health record that provides updated health information and is accessible online. Zweena also collaborates with Microsoft HealthVault by updating patients’ personal HealthVault accounts.
Health records created in the Zweena Platform are exclusively controlled by the user. Zweena protects users against medical identity theft by ensuring that each individual operating a Zweena account has the ability to decide what information goes into their Personal Health Records on a case-by-case basis.
Additionally, Zweena does not use the health information of users for commercial purposes in any way. Users interested in providing background data to third parties may do so by clearly stating their consent when prompted by the system. ZweenaHealth.com does not sell, repackage, reproduce, use or commercialize in any way the data entered for its valued clients, and Zweena clients have complete control over sharing features.
“Zweena’s strict policy on securing users’ identities and information when they use our PHR service online makes us want to adopt the most stringent internal processes and secure approaches in delivering our online PHR services to patients and caregivers. By giving users total control over information sharing features, we have ensured that they alone have the power to share their health information with third parties when they deem necessary, and as they see fit. Zweena does not use the medical information and/or health data of our clients in any way,” says CEO John Phelan.
Zweena’s online PHR service provides patients and providers with a secure, private and easy-to-access platform that offers a truly comprehensive and accurate online personal health record. By minimizing stress and error and presenting useful health information in a clear and actionable way, Zweena allows patients to really be in control of their health information, and makes it possible for providers to access updated and accurate information that saves time, cost and human life.
Zweena collects patients’ medical records and health information from doctors’ offices and organizes and digitizes this information into a Zweena Health Record which is available in real-time online across internet-enabled devices from any location with Internet access. Zweena also stores patient heath information in their personal HealthVault accounts via a shared interface.
The Zweena service is available as a free trial. To learn more or get started, please visit zweenahealth.com/free-trial/, send an email to info(at)zweenahealth(dot)com or call the Zweena help line on 877-848-4248 for more information.

Competition creator? FCC forces “data roaming” on reluctant carriers
With Sprint and Comcast cheering (and Verizon booing), the Federal Communications Commission has issued rules requiring commercial mobile broadband providers to provide data roaming to other carriers “on commercially reasonable terms and conditions.” “The evidence shows that mobile providers must be able to offer nationwide voice and data plans to have any chance of competing in today’s market …

MiFi Demonstration – The portable wireless hotspot
A demonstration of the Verizon MiFi – the portable wireless hotspot that uses the cellular network to create a WiFi bubble around the unit for up to 5 devices to share Internet access simultaneously.
This handy little device is manufactured by Novatel and currently offered by Verizon and Sprint. MiFi is a great way to bring broadband with you on the move and share broadband with several devices. The device is either battery powered (about 4 hours of use), powered by a USB connection or the included AC charger. I have connected Mac and Windows laptops as well as iPhones and iPod Touches – everything worked great. Connection speeds vary based on the your coverage area and the demand for wireless data, but I typically get 1.1 Mbps down and about 500Kbps up. There are a couple catches that buyers should be aware of. The largest wireless data plan available is $59/mo but that only include 5GB of data transfer per month – steep overage charges apply beyond the 5GB limit. In addition, you need to sign a 2 year contract for the data plan in order to get the device at a discounted rate.
Overall, I’m very impressed by the device. 4 of 5 stars.

Encrypting File System XP Pro’
Before you start using ‘Microsoft Windows EFS’, BACKUP YOUR PRIVATE KEY!
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241201
If you Encrypt your personal files, it makes your data much more secure. This will not work for ‘XP Home’ or ‘Vista Home’ as the ‘Home’ Editions do not support ‘Microsoft Windows EFS’ (Encrypting File System). ‘Home’ users may use ‘True Crypt’ as described below, though this very basic, but effective method (Microsoft’s EFS) will work with ‘XP Pro’ and ‘Vista Ultimate’.
Please be aware that when you Copy (Do NOT ‘Move’) a File to an Encrypted Folder, you must ALWAYS make sure you ‘Shred’ the original File. Deleting it (even if you empty your Recycle Bin) will NOT get rid of your unEncrypted File. ‘Spybot – Search & Destroy’ will install a ‘File Shredder’ (Supports ‘Drag & Drop’) into your ‘Start Menu’, though there are many alternatives for Shredding Confidential Documents…
Eraser: (Will also Erase a whole Drive)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/eraser/
FileMenu Tools: (Right click a File and simpy select ‘Shred’)
http://www.lopesoft.com/en/fmtools/info.html
More info’ on EFS:
http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/Understanding-EFS-Windows-2003.html
For advanced methods of Encryption (‘Serpent’, ‘AES-256′, and ‘Twofish’), I would strongly recommend Downloading ‘True Crypt’.
‘True Crypt’ will also work on ‘XP Home & Pro’, ‘Vista Home & Ultimate’, ‘Linux/Ubuntu’ and ‘Mac OS X’. Great for storing Highly Confidential Data (Such as millions of peoples personal details, and bank account details, due to be transported by a Courier/Postal Service) on a Removable Media such as a ‘Flash Drive’/'Memory Stick’, ‘CD’ or ‘DVD’, which can then be safely transported and accessed from another ‘PC’/'Operating System’ running ‘True Crypt’, simply by entering the Password to Mount the File.; Much similar to how you would Mount a *.ISO File with a ‘Virtual CD/DVD-ROM Emulator’ (like DAEMON Tools), but with a ‘Password Prompt’ before actually ‘Mounting’. When you try to Mount the File, you will be Prompted for the Password. The File will then Mount as a new Drive on the system; assign it any free/available Drive letter you wish.

Knowledge:
Note:
Passwords more than 100 characters long, consisting of upper-case and lower-case Letters, Numbers, Spaces and $p3Cail Ch4R4cT0R5, should be sufficient protection against current civilian technology, until Quantum Computers are available to the public…

Narrator…
“If you have files on your PC that you don’t want other people to view from another Windows account, you can Encrypt them.
Just right click the file you want to Encrypt, then click ‘Advanced’. Now select ‘Encrypt contents to secure data’ and click ‘OK’.
Now click ‘Apply’.
Select ‘Encrypt the file only’ and click ‘OK’.
Hackers, and even Administrators, will now get an ‘Access Denied’ message when they try to open the file.
To make things simpler, you can Encrypt a whole folder. Anything you put in that folder will automatically be encrypted until you take it back out. This method is particularly useful for adding extra security to lots of files such as MSN ‘History’ files or even your whole MSN ‘My Received Files’ folder.
You will know when a file is Encrypted because the text will change color.
Now it might be wise to change your Windows password, but don’t forget it. That is the only account which will allow you to open your files. The longer the password, the harder to crack.
Bye for now!”
