Richard E. Last has joined the board of Commercial Connect LLC, based in Louisville, KY., the company seeking delegation of .shop from ICANN. Last is also a current board member of the National Retail Federation Foundation and Chairman Emeritus of Shop.org, the world’s leading membership community for digital retail. He is a lecturer and directs the Digital Retail Bachelor’s Degree Program of the University of North Texas, part of the College of Merchandising, Hospitality, and Tourism. He formerly served as manager of new business development for JCPenney Catalog, and launched jcp.com’s website in 1994, which later became the first US online retail site to generate over $ 1 billion in annual sales. He also held the roles of president of JCP Ecommerce L.P. and was a former director of digital ventures for J.C. Penney Co. Inc.
CEO and Founder of Commercial Connect LLC Jeffrey Smith, said, “We are delighted to add Richard to our board of directors and appreciate his extensive experience in e-commerce, multichannel retail, and social commerce. Atlanta-based Abundant Closet drives revenue for retailers by allowing consumers to bring their entire closet inventory to every purchase decision. The company has relationships with 23 retailer brands, including Nordstrom, Dillards, Saks Fifth Avenue and Gap.
Austin-based Invodo’s video platform is specifically designed for retailers. Statistics show that video boosts 30% average increase in conversion rates, and a 25% reduction in abandoned shopping carts, and reduced return rates, according to eMarketer, and Practical eCommerce magazine.
