Question by p: Do you think that there should be “low-income cell phones”?
In my state, Colorado, they are currently proposing cell phones for low income residents. Anybody with a cell phone or a landline would get a charge on their bill that would go towards funding these cell phones for low income people. They would not have to pay anything. They say they are doing this in case of emergencies, but Trackphone (the company that would offer the low income plan) stated they are interested in doing this to try to convince them to pay for a bigger plan. It’s obvious a money making scheme, and why should other citizens have to pay for other peoples’ luxury? A cell phone isn’t a neccessity. What is your opinion?

They don’t like you to know this but yes you can convert a pay as you go phone to a contract phone, give it a try and if it doesn’t work then call customer service to have them do an ESN swap for you.
