If you know the number that is spamming, avoid receiving its calls; you already know that these calls are not important.
If you're getting it frequently, just change the ringtone specific to this number as SILENT or very low-vol-'click-clack'-type-sound.

& if issue become even serious, (serious enough for you to post it in Yahoo Answers/) call your service provider (verizon etc) & get help for blocking this number.
I'm not sure if there're any services from Mobile VAS companies that would block SMS & calls in USA. If there're you dont have to contact your service provider, simply buy such software/app.

Hope that helps.
References :
you can go too your carrier company and tell them too block the number ... tell them the story and tell them you dont want to let them call you any more and they can block the number from being able too call you
im not so sure if they charge to do something like that but i do know its possible
or you can change your number...

Only thing you can do is make a new profile and start over.
They will not send a new password to a different e-mail other than what was set up. This is how they protect you. If they allowed it, then anyone can claim this and get into your account and post terrible things about you.
References :
I bet it's one of your friends, talk to them and ask them, or get a new number.Ohh better idea tell your parents go to your plan store Verizon or whatever give them the number and make them track it, but if you don't know the number or know who it is then change it.
References :
You just need the right modem just like you do for cable internet. I suppose you could call it a satellite modem. You also need a dish to get the signals to and from the satellilte. Other than the dish the connection is pretty much the same. The link below shows a satellite connection.
References :
http://www.wildblue.com/aboutWildblue/how_it_works_demo.jsp
