The popular Buckinghamshire conference venue has just been nominated in the Best UK Conference Centre category of the Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Industry Awards 2012.

Lane End is one of four UK business meeting venues vying for the award – the winner will be announced on Monday March 5 at a glittering awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.

It comes just weeks after Sales and Marketing Manager Heni Fourie was selected as a finalist in the Meetings Industry Association’s prestigious MIA-List awards. Winners will be presented with their awards at a black tie event on Monday March 19 in London.

Heni said: “Both these awards are very highly regarded in the conference venue UK market and we are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the two of them within just a few weeks of each other.

“We all work very hard to deliver the very best possible experience for our delegates. It’s wonderful that our efforts are being nominated for awards at a national level.”

He added: “We are very excited and are looking forward to the two awards ceremonies.”

The award nominations coincide with major refurbishments to the meeting facilities at Lane End Conference Centre.

Lane End has already completed much of the refurbishment work, which has involved structural makeover work to increase the space at its conference and training venues and let more natural light flood in.

Key phases of the work were carried out during the Christmas break in order to avoid disruption to delegates.

Improvements at Lane End’s five self-contained conference buildings include:

    a brand new boardroom for senior executive meetings and fine dining
    a new bistro-style restaurant for Wycombe Hall, complete with new floor-to-ceiling French doors opening out on to a new deck
    structural work to give the Wycombe Court business meeting venue higher ceilings and larger windows, enhancing the views of the landscaped grounds
    new floor-to-ceiling glass doors at the Wycombe Lodge conference venue plus a new deck for alfresco dining
    a centrepiece new reception area plus ongoing refurbishment of all 104 en-suite bedrooms
    extending and enhancing The Cabin games room and bar.

“All the refurbishment work has progressed very well – it is either on time or ahead of schedule,” said Mr Fourie.

Spool is a digital recorder for the web. Users can save articles, videos, image galleries, PDFs, and have it pushed to all of their mobile devices. They can view this content later, either online or offline. Users can also push this content to their friends’ devices without worrying about Flash or the type of device their friend owns.
